I'm actually rather pleased with how the past year progressed
from a magickal standpoint. Our ongoing experiment in
gestalt magick is spreading like oil on water. I suspect that
one really needs an appreciation for diversity to make this
kind of thing work for them, though. The ability to paradigm
shift is just a prerequisite, a portal opener so to speak. Back
in the late 70's and early 80's when I was into painting one
of the techniques I used was to pour oil based paint in a
large pan of water and then dip a canvas in it. The pattern
was transfered to the canvas and from there I painted the
patterns that I discerned (These sold extremely rapidly.) This
was an exercise in working with patterned chaos.
When working with gestalts the background is much more
complex, but the patterns that emerge can be truely amazing
as well as illuminating.

Re: Anyone Want to Sum Up How 2005 Went For Them?
Fri, December 16, 2005 - 4:18 PMDear George,
2005 summed up for me?
Intense.
- moved house
- initiated into two different magical groups plus fatherhood
- took on a novice
(All in addition to my stressful and time-consuming university course.)
Hopefully I can catch my breath before 2006 starts :)
In Deification and Deicide,
Tim

Re: Anyone Want to Sum Up How 2005 Went For Them?
Mon, January 2, 2006 - 10:04 PM2005:
1. I focused on my health in terms of targeting damaged neural transmitters in my spine, brittle bones and increased pain to the joints using PMR (Progressive Muscular Relaxation) + repetitive visualisations and self-hypnosis in particular. I do not use any pain meds at all these days and I have major league improvement in the messages recieved from bowel and bladder (damaged by an unknown virus in 2000). The brittle bones remain the problem with two compressed fractures in the thoracic vertebrae showing up in an x-ray recently (but the docs can't determine if I have had those for a while or not, since they have now decided that a blur in an x-ray taken 12 months earlier might represent the fractures). I will keep working on this.
2. I had a very active year contributing to magical discussions on the Internet, plus moderating a number of forums.
3. 3/4 way through the year I started writing a book on post-modern magic and various creative ways of tipping the balance of probability in your favour. I created a monster (grins) and will finish "ChaoSense: Chaos Magic for Fun and Profit" in the next couple of months.
